Yes its ps3 sales not sony family. And vgchartz did amazingly well to get it exactly right for ps3 sales this christmas worldwide.
What are you going on about now? I said that your link showed that both MS and Sony used sold to consumer numbers. Now from that link you managed to get out that MS reports shipped and Sony sold. But your missing the whole point of my point. Sony, MS whoever can estimate sell through (which you tried to show) but they NEVER do it in financial reports which are the official quarterly reports.

Give me one link, just one that states that sony states sold to consumers in their financial reports (hint. not in a random press release of sales where any company could estimate 'sell-through' to consumers.)
It may have awesome sales but it will never outsell the wii. Neither HD twin will. The wii has sold over 3 million in the US in December alone. ABout 7 million worldwide.

SO 39 million to retailers. That must mean that around 37-37.5 sold to consumers. So vgchartz may have undertracked ever so slightly but considering they have to update their numbers for this week they may be spot on!

I never thought i'd see the ps2 dethroned here but Nintendo have done amazingly to beat the amazing records that the ps2 set. Well done wii/DS.
THe maths are not sound if the wii is involved. Will it beat the 360? Unless natal brings some kind of revolution then yes. But the wii? How many times do people keep having to make the same mistakes.
it may help hardware sales but it would definately hinder software sales. The wii/360/DS/PSP have certainly seen lower software sales that they could have done without piracy. Sony needs more people to buy ps3 games not just pirate them.
Will it ever? There will always be improvements. The next 5 years in particular I think we will see a huge push towards different ways of interacting with games.
Looking at the top 10 only final fantasy is non nintendo. I thought the wii was declining and was doomed bla bla bla...

You really are biased vhero arent you. SO giving games with a console is bad now? Jesus. Here in the UK the ps3, wii and 360 can all be bought with 4 games coming with the console. Its the retailers that decide what they want to push.
And mario kart actually wins. Amazing seeing as it was released nearly 2 years ago! Now that is legs!
It is impressive and it sold well considering the install base. But NSMB Wii outselling it by nearly a million is hugely impressive. I remember saying I thought it would on here considering the wii has hugely outsold the ps3 and I was called a closet fanboy.
Well done to both games I say.

Its true most of those sales are bloated because of bundles but the same goes for 360 and wii games.
